EXCITING LAUNCH OF MISSION PLANE IN AUSTRALIASubject: From the Firing Lines Written by Pastor Sam Braga, President of Cannot Be Hidden International (CBHI) Hi all, Today is a historic occasion for CBHI and I want to share it with you. I know that this piece of good news will cheer the hearts of all those who support the ministry of CBHI. At 6.00 am today Craig Wright (CEO of CBHI Aviation), Gary Fraser (CFI) and Warren Scale departed on route to Broom flying our first plane to enter the mission fields! AOG is the Cessna 182 that we purchased first of our two planes. The plane will arrive in Broom tomorrow afternoon by God's will. It will be dedicated for mission service on Sabbath and it will begin its missionary work most probably Sunday or Monday next week. The pictures bellow show AOG. The plane has undergone extensive upgrades since these photos were taken. The plane has been fitted with a new communications system and GPS and has been upgraded to IFR level. Craig has also spent a lot of time doing panel work to make it look beautiful. He also painted the CBHI aviation Logo on its tail and though these photos don't show it, the plane looks very smart. Warren Scale will be the mission pilot in charge of AOG. Warren is a seasoned missionary having worked for ADRA in some Asian Countries for many years, he loves the Lord, the Adventist message and loves working for people. He and his wife have lived by faith and are fully supportive of the ideology of CBHI. Warren will be visiting aboriginal villages that the Lord has already opened for him. He will be the one that will "break the ground", as this kind of work has never been done in Australia by any other SDA. I ask you to keep Warren in prayer, he needs to learn many things, and they need to be learned correctly as his experiences will shape the experiencesof many other mission pilots who are coming after him. Please place Warren on you prayers, ask your churches to pray for him and AOG as I am in no doubt that Satan will endevour to stop this work. We praise the Lord for His provisions that have enabled CBHI to train Warren as a pilot. It has not been an easy road for Warren, he has been waiting for "his" plane for a while, but he has also faced tough challenges in order to obtain his pilot's license. The Lord has been gracious in empowering Warren to be able to pass all his tests successfully. He is now a fully qualified pilot. The fuel expenses for AOG have been covered for while due to a $10,000 donation. The local church, where Warren attends, which is composed of about 6-8 folks, gave a sacrificial offering to pay for the fuel costs to take the plane over there. Then God touched the heart of a person who gladly gave the sum to ensure that AOG will have funds to commence its mission work in the Kimberley. (If any of you feels compelled by the Lord to support financially the work of Warren, CBHI has opened an account for Warren where all donations earmarked for this plane will be deposited). Craig has taken the ministry's camera to film as much footage as possible to make a short documentary of the experience. We will be glad to share it with you once it is finished. As most of you know, it has been a difficult year for CBHI with the closing down of our facilities in Sydney, most key CBHI members resigning from their roles and the big move up north. The Lord has seen fit to take us to point of a " near death experience". But I believe that He is beginning to move the ministry forward once more. My heart rejoices the plane going to Broom. It is a dream come true for all of us at CBHI! If you could pray for the following items regarding the ministry: 1. For our other plane XTX, we need to do an expensive repair to the engine, so at the moment it is grounded. This will be the plane that the Lord has dedicated to serve this area and the Torres Straight Islands. 2. We are planning to re-open CBHI Missionary College early next year. We need the facilities to make this a reality. We need wisdom from above how and where to do it. 3. For a couple that have heard the call of the Lord and have made the decision to give it all up and join the CBHI. They are a mature couple, Walter and Mirra. Walter will join the ministry as a pilot Instructor and eventually as the Chief Flying Instructor. 4. For land to be able to settle the headquarters of CBHI. by this I mean for a place where we can establish the Media Centre, a health centre, the College and the school of AViation. Every time in the last year I have asked the Lord, "do you really want CBHI to keep going? It will be a lot easier to close it!" He always tells me, "Is up to you" (meaning every one involved in CBHI) "I have given you Australia and the South Pacific". I believe what the Lord says I hope he sustains my faith to see His dream come true! On a personal note. Since we moved to the Atherton Tablelands we have been very busy. The move has not been the easiest thing for the family. The children miss their friends and cousins. Mary and I miss our friends (from Penrith church and others) and relatives. But over all we are very happy. I am looking after three congregations as a volunteer, and they are a wonderful bunch of people. We could not have asked for a better group of people. We praise the Lord for His mercy and love towards us. We are living in a brand new home the Conference built. It is a large home and it is really beautiful. We live on the outskirts of the town of Atherton. This town has a population of about 12,000 people. The surroundings are beautiful, we have lakes, falls, mountains and valleys. There are many farms. I tell you, you should see what the locals call pick hour traffic here! Life is quite, the people are laid back, they love talking, no one is in a hurry. The people here drive under the speed limit. The only ones in hurry are us! Well, we still carry with us the Sydney spirit I guess. At the moment Jonathan and I are working on a veggie patch on the side of the house. Soon we will have our own fresh vegetables growing. Since I arrived here, I have been busy preaching and running revivals all over the place. I participated in AYC as one of the workshop presenters, then I was in charge of the Junior tent for Big Camp. That was a challenge for me as I had never been involved in a Big Camp setting, and never run ministry for children in the Junior age. But the Lord blessed and we had the privilege of seeing many children giving their hearts to Jesus and requesting Bible studies. Then in July I went to Indonesia to run a couple of revival programs. The Lord really blessed us over there. I was wonderful again to a third world country. Many young people consecrated their lives to Christ and the Churches were richly blessed. At the end of July I went to Darwin to conduct a weekend of revivals for the churches there. Again, the Lord manifested himself over there and many gave themselves in full surrender to Jesus. After that I run a week of revivals for Quintin in Alice Springs Church. The folks there were touched by the Holy Spirit. For those of you who know Quintin and Tanya (trained as Bible workers at CBHI Missionary College), they are doing a great work over there. You can really see that it was the Lord who chose them for the work they are doing. (It is our plan, by God 's Grace, to have a plan stationed in Alice Springs to service all that area.) At our little Church in Atherton we have just finished running a week long evangelistic program entitled "The Evidence". The program gave reasons why we can trust the Bible. We had a number of visitors attending the program and now some of them are attending the follow up programs on how to study the Bible. I would like to praise the Lord for His wonderful love to us. I would like to openly acknowledge His faithfulness to us as family and also as ministry. I believe that those who wait patiently on Him will never be disappointed, though they may have to go through hardships. I leave you with the following quote: By sin we have been severed from the life of God. Our souls are palsied. Of ourselves we are no more capable of living a holy life than was the impotent man capable of walking. Many realize their helplessness; they are longing for that spiritual life which will bring them into harmony with God, and are striving to obtain it. But in vain. In despair they cry, "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from this body of death?" Romans 7:24, margin. Let these desponding, struggling ones look up. The Saviour is bending over the purchase of His blood, saying with inexpressible tenderness and pity, "Wilt thou be made whole?" He bids you arise in health and peace. Do not wait to feel that you are made whole. Believe the Saviour's word. Put your will on the side of Christ. Will to serve Him, and in acting upon His word you will receive strength. Whatever may be the evil practice, the master passion which through long indulgence binds both soul and body, Christ is able and longs to deliver. He will impart life to the soul that is "dead in trespasses." Ephesians 2:1. He will set free the captive that is held by weakness and misfortune and the chains of sin. - {MH 84.4} With LOve Pastor Sam |
